Find, Edit, and Add images to your website

Step 1 (find image):
  • Go to Fotolia and search for the image you would like to use for your banner
    • Horizontal images usually work best for creating banners
  • Download the image you decided on to your desktop
    • The width of your site will most likely determine the image dimensions - usually around (1200W x any Height) will work
    • Step 2 (edit image):

    Option 1 - HTML editor included in Tandem Server

      • You will be able to; edit the opacity resize, fip, rotate, and crop the image.
      • You will not be able to add layers to the image (for example add text over the image)
      • When you save the image the new image will have a new name.
    • Tandem Server publishing tool go to Global Content --> Global Header Content
    • Click in the HTML Editor
    • Click the Image Manager icon
    • Upload the image you just downloaded
    • Click the Image Editor icon (image below)
    • Once you are done editing click Save button
    • Make sure your updated image is selected and click the Insert button

     


  • Option 2 - Photoshop
      • Instructions on how to edit your image using Photoshop is out of scope of this article
      • At the time of writing this article Photoshop is the best image editing software available, it is also very expensive
      • If you have Photoshop installed most likely you aleardy know how to edit your image
    • Step 3 (add image):
    • Tandem Server publishing tool go to Global Content --> Global Header Content
    • Click in the HTML Editor
    • Click the Image Manager icon
    • Upload the image you just downloaded
    • Click the Insert button
